NEW SERVICES
In January 2000 a new service has been started from Europe to PORT SUDAN with oncarriage to KHARTOUM. The service will start with a sailing every 3 weeks
and a transit time of 18 days to Port Sudan, although later on this year the frequency will be updated. There is a daily truck service to Khartoum from Port Sudan.
In February 2000 the Group started a direct fortnightly lcl service to SUAPE and RECIFE in Brasil giving a transit time of only 10 days.
The Confreight Group can now justifiably call themselves THE specialist to Brasil with lcl services to Paranagua, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Suape Santos and Rio
Grande do Sul by non conference vessels and to Rio de Janeiro and Santos by conference.
It is the intention to increase the frequency of departures this year and also to add more direct sailings to other Brazilian ports.
Also in February direct services to PUERTO CABELLO in Venezuela were commenced on a fortnightly basis with a transit time of only 15 days.
The response from our shippers has certainly highlighted the need for this direct service!
The Confreight Group is further pleased to announce that March 2000 saw their first direct sailings to ORANJESTAD and WILLEMSTAD in the Netherlands Antilles.
There will be 2 sailings a month with total transit times of 21 days and 18 days respectively.
This service will be upgraded to weekly service as soon as possible.
As from March 2000 the Le Havre office is offering a direct lcl service to Beirut with a 10 day transit time thus supplementing its direct services to South America,
Asia and the Middle East.

U.K. EXPANSION
Despite only being founded in February 1999, the rapid expansion of Confreight (U.K.) Ltd, both on its export and import services, has necessitated the relocation of
its head office in Chelmsford near London to larger premises. Negotations are currently under way for the move to take place in mid April.
